The new Total Structures brochure
Since the last LDI, it has been a strong year for Total Structures with many high profile projects, recruitments and expansions.

We started the year with the huge installation of the all-new Ford Motor Company exhibit at the NAIAS show in Detroit. A custom-built 110000sq./ft structure containing some 2.5Km and 55 tons of truss, which is currently being reconfigured with a new look for 2007.

In March we welcomed Adrian Forbes-Black to the company as VP Operations. Adrian began his career with our sister company in the UK and further established his reputation when he became General Manager for Tomcat UK, playing a lead role in establishing them in Europe. Prior to joining us, he was the European Sales Manager for CM during a period of prolific growth of the company's interests in Europe. His background provides Total Structures with a wealth of experience and knowledge and this will be his first LDI as a member of our team.

In the spring we developed a system that allowed us to retro fit our Stage Roof System to increase capacity of the grid by approximately 50% whilst still maintaining our policy of using only standard modular components. The improvements have allowed it to support the extremely high point loads required by current video screen technology without compromising ease and speed of construction or tight truck packs for which it is renowned.

The year has seen our new wave carbon fiber truss range establish itself as an industry tool with a number of large scale projects, the most visible to the world (but sadly not the US...) was this summers studio and stadium sets used by the BBC for it's Soccer World Cup coverage, thought to have been seen by hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide. new wave was chosen not only for its unique look, but also for its high quality finish as the event was the BBC's flagship launch into High Definition broadcasting.

The fall has seen Total Structures' long overdue arrival in the eastern US with the opening of our Atlanta sales office headed up by Elmer Veith. This office will provide our East Coast, Mid West and Southern clients with customer support in their own time zones. Elmer's addition to the team brings a wealth of experience and a vast knowledge of the rigging industry. After 8 years with Atlanta Rigging Systems (a long time Total Structures distributor) his familiarity with our product range and vast experience with both CM and motion control products make Elmer an extremely welcome arrival.

In line with this expansion and recognising our customers occasional need for immediate access to product, we now maintain an inventory of standard product not only at our own facility but also in Las Vegas as part of a reciprocal agreement with Silver State Rigging and will shortly offer a similar "off the shelf" supply line to the east coast.

With the arrival of both Adrian and Elmer, the fall has also seen Total Structures step up its commitment to the sale and service of motors and control systems. We have been CM master distributors for sometime and we now have an in house service department. We are also delighted to announce that we have secured a distribution deal with Motion Laboratories and now offer their considerable range of control and Power distribution equipment along side the Skjonberg Controls range with whom we have enjoyed a long and successful relationship. Total Structures now offers a complete "one stop shop" for all rigging supply and servicing needs.

Finally, in time for this years show, we have launched our new catalogue and website. Both have been designed to give a flavour of what Total Structures is all about, and more importantly to provide our clients with the information they need to make their equipment purchases and the technical information they need to use the products. We have tried to provide this information in a consistent and easy to use format, and the web information is printer friendly. Yet another example of Total Structures offering...
